About  Speech Linc

Speech Linc is built on the principles of  providing individualised therapy to suit your childs needs, while working collaboratively with others to help achieve, secure and maintain progress.  Speech Linc is dedicated to providing a high standard of service and to provide a child centred approach to intervention.

 

Michelle qualified from University College London in 1999 and began working as a speech and language therapist for a residential autistic school. She moved into the NHS in 2002 and continued working within the education sector. She became a specialist speech and language therapist during her time in the NHS. In 2005 she moved to Lincolnshire to begin an independent practice. During her time in independent practice, Michelle took the role of senior speech and language therapist for special schools in Guernsey for 6 months and then worked as a consultant for a further 6 months. Michelle is currently the Lincolnshire local group coordinator for speech and language therapists in independent practice. 

 

Michelle was the speech and language therapist supporting a little girl with Selective Mutism, for ITV's documentary "My Child's not Perfect" (episode 1), in Dec 2011. Here the country was able to watch how effective speech and language therapy can be! She was also on Inside Out supporting a family with a child with Slective Mutism. 

 

Michelle is registered with all necessary professional bodies and holds a current DBS.

Michelle is experienced in working with children with

Specific speech and language impairments
Autistic Spectrum Disorders and SCERTS trained
Learning difficulties
Selective Mutism 
Downs Syndrome
Phonological (sound) difficulties.


She has completed training in the above areas as well as being trained in using some Alternative Augumentative Communication e.g. the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECs).
